Goals
The main goal of this project was to design a brand-new website that would establish Bidly’s online presence, build credibility, generate leads, and keep users informed about their products and services. Additionally, Bidly wanted the site to reflect a futuristic vision with animations that represented their core services.
An essential feature was to develop a Return on Investment (ROI) calculator that would demonstrate the savings clients could achieve using Bidly.
Challenges
As an early-stage startup, it was crucial to design a website that not only met Bidly’s current needs but would also remain relevant as the company grows. We carefully balanced present requirements with future scalability, ensuring the website could evolve with Bidly’s progress.
One of the most challenging aspects was designing an animation that encapsulated Bidly’s mission and vision. It needed to be futuristic, visually engaging, and reflective of Bidly’s values.
Additionally, we aimed to incorporate subtle micro-interactions throughout the website, keeping users engaged and providing feedback as they navigated. This was vital for creating a more interactive user experience.
As a SaaS company, Bidly’s website needed to do more than just promote services; it also had to educate users on how to use the product. We ensured that visitors could easily find relevant information, such as blogs, which provided in-depth content related to the features they were exploring.
Solution Approach
Before diving into the design phase, we conducted thorough research to understand Bidly’s needs and expectations. We also analyzed competitor websites to gather insights on industry standards and user preferences.
The Design Process
1. User Research and Competitor Analysis
We began by studying Bidly’s existing customers and conducting competitor benchmarking to understand user expectations and identify key trends in the industry.
2. Website Information Architecture
After research, we developed a comprehensive website information architecture. This outlined the structure of each webpage, user navigation flows, and key micro-interactions to be incorporated into the design.
3. Wireframing
In this phase, we created low-fidelity wireframes of all the web pages. These were reviewed by stakeholders and users to gather feedback before moving on to the UI design stage.
4. UI Design and Prototyping
With the wireframes approved, we designed the final UI, ensuring it aligned with Bidly’s brand identity. We also created interactive prototypes to test user navigation. During this stage, the color palette was finalized and incorporated into the designs.
Result
The new Bidly website successfully achieved the project’s goals, creating a strong online presence that effectively showcases Bidly’s offerings. By integrating engaging animations and micro-interactions, the website delivers an interactive experience that resonates with users and highlights Bidly’s innovative approach to construction management.
The Return on Investment (ROI) calculator became a valuable feature, providing potential customers with a tangible understanding of how much they could save by using Bidly’s services, contributing to lead generation and customer engagement.
Overall, the project successfully met Bidly’s immediate needs while providing a scalable solution for future growth.
